Hi all!
As most of you are aware, I am an avid netballer and general all round sports NUT!!! One of the gals on my Monday night team turned the big 40…and of course I had to make the card for the team!!
I have seen many wonderful tulip cards made from the wings of the XL Bird Punch. Given that the birthday gal had experienced the recent loss of her mum, we wanted it to be bright and cheery. Here’s the card….
The colour scheme was Old Olive and Real Red. I sponged all the petals and leaves. It gave a wonderful depth I think.
All of the bits on the card were popped up on dimensionals…
I had soooooooooo much fun making this one, I kinda sorta…well definitely got carried away with making them. So you will see a couple more later!!
Thanks for dropping by.

Hi All,
Back to all things flowers….again!!!! I love finding cards and putting a slight twist on them. This is the card that inspired me today. I love the way the flower just popped up off the card. I wanted to try the Faux Suede technique with it, to see how it would work. These are the 2 cards I came up with….
Sadly you cannot really see the script or vintage travel tag stamp I used on the backgrounds of both these cards. Hopefully you can see a little here….
I also stamped the suede side of the flowers in the same stamp in the same CS colour to give a bit of texture and interest. I think you can see it on the blue one slightly better.
The leaves are punched from the Blossom Petals Builder Punch and folded in half then run through the crimper. The brads are bargains from the Reject shop….a card of 12 for $1!!!!
Thanks for dropping by today. I will try and list all things used. I did make these some time ago!!
Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink, Pear Pizzaz
Ink: (SU) Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede

Hi all…..
Sadly last week I lost a dear friend who left behind a mammoth legacy. She died at the age of 84, survived by her 13 (she had 15 in all) children, 36 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. Her funeral was put together by herself prior to her passing (which was sooooooo her) and it was magical.

Over the years I had made her many things….mainly in tones of her favourite colour….blue. So it was only fitting that the card I gave to her family reflected that too. Here is her card…..

I struggled with the way I wanted to lay this out. I wanted the blue to pop and initially I had no matting….just the rose sitting on dimensionals….but is was very flat. The rose was coloured on Vanilla CS with blender pens….something I know I need a lot more practice at.
In the end, the matts won out…and I am thankful they did. I also found I had a lot more “space’ to work with on a square as opposed to a rectangular card. The rose and sentiment were still popped up on dimensionals.

The sympathy sentiment is a clear KaiserCraft one. I struggle to get even ink coverage on these esp with SU ink. If anyone has any suggestions…..I would be grateful.

Thanks for popping by.

Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Very Vanilla, Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue (butterfly) and Roman Print Square Card
Ink: (SU) Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Pear Pizzaz, Old Olive (all used colouring the rose)
Stamps: Kaszzaz Rose, KaiserCraft Sympathy Sentiments
Other Bits: Blender Pens, Dimensionals, SU Beautiful Wings embosslit die, Rhinestones

Morning all.
Do you ever have those days when possibly the confidence you have is slightly more than what you really should have??? i think I suffered an episode similar to this not so long ago. I had the very bright idea (not) to try and CASE a card by the uber talented Teneale Williams. I had some ‘gorjus’ rose based paper in my stash with this particular card in mind….all I had to do was keep the card layout as is and the substitute different colours. This is the card that I had in mind. I was happy so far.
I got all the elements guesstimated and cut out, and thought it would also be a good idea to make one the same as the original, so then when that went together OK….I could tackle the one in different colours. Here is my version of Teneale’s original.

I basically had it all the same with the exception of the white doodle dots around the Choc Chip frame. No matter how I measured and double checked…I was not satisfied with the result. I therefore went to a “ticket punch” cornering on the white mat with pearls.

There are alot of dimensionals on this card….perhaps one of the “highest” cards I have done but I think it looks OK IRL. I also placed a dimensional under the sentiment banner to give it a little lift and support.

I do have the other version in pieces…and in 2 versions of co-ordinating colours, but that will wait for another day.

Thanks for dropping by…hope to see you again soon.

Stuff used:

Hi All.

I am so sorry I have been so scarce of late. I cannot believe I have not posted in over 2 weeks. I am in the midst of a FULL on week with multiple birthdays, dental appointments, a funeral and just for good measure…the usual home life stuff that needs to get done.

I have just got something quick for you that was inspired by a card I saw by Angela here. I don’t know if it was the CAS aspect or the fact that it looked relatively easy to CASE that got me, but when I had it nearly ready to go, I thought it was missing something. Here is my version……

I kinda stepped it up a bit by busting out my Martha Stewart punch. It fills in the white space just a little more. There is the very narrowest of borders between the punch and the white mat.
Thanks for dropping by. I hope to be a tad more regular in posting soon. I am working on a couple of bigger projects that I look forward to sharing with you very soon.
Stuff used:
CS: (SU) Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Wild Wasabi and Roman Print White Linen Square Cards
Ink: (SU) Wild Wasabi, Pink Passion (ret)
Stamps: SU Build A Blossom, Amy R “Birthday Sentiments”
Punches: Martha Stewart Double Loop Around The Page Punch, Carla Craft CP8 – Corner Rounder Punch
Other Bits: Dimensionals, Button, 3mm White ribbon

Hi all.

A bonus post for you today as the delightful folks at Our Creative Corner have another challenge that appealed to me. There is something very magical about Black and White. This week’s challenge is just that….black and white with a splash of colour. You can see the details here.

I am a closet music nut, Some time back at a Stitches and Craft show I made a purchase (somewhat of an impulse nature) of a treble clef and some modified sheet music. Alas…the sheet music stamp has been used but the treble clef remained neglected….until now. This is my challenge card…..

It was a lot easier in my head to get this card right than it was in practice!!!! I used my Nesties – Labels 4, but the one I wanted to use was ever so slightly too small, and the image on the largest one had too much white! Solution – I cut off the last “bumps” on the white label and did the same for the red one, I then taped the red one so that it fitted the white frame. Let me just say it was MUCH easier on the large label than the sentiment one.

The other trick was to find a sentiment to fit the label. i ended up using my Stamp and Write Markers to colour in the “Wish”. OK result I think….if you don’t look too closely. The DP has a very weathered and worn look to it which contrasted my splash of colour too.

I love the texture of the treble clef. I really should have dragged it out sooner.

Thanks for dropping by. Stop over at OCC and give the challenge a go. There are already some awesome entries. I also must sincerely thank Tui. She gave me the “permission” I needed to get off my backside and enter this one.

Stuff Used:
CS:(SU) Basic Black, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, 7gypsies – Paddington Paper – Kilburn #19359.
Ink: (SU) Cherry Cobbler, SWM in Bsic Black
Stamps: Hero Arts Clings – Musical Clef (CG279), TCM – Butterfly Kisses (the “wish” sentiment)
Other bits: Nestabilities Labels Four, Dimensionals

Good afternoon all.

My old boss (who I worked for in total for 10 years) recently celebrated an significant “0” birthday. Even though h is no longer my employer, he is still a good friend and I could not let the occasion go by without a card. one thing he is passionate about is sailing and the ocean, so it was an easy decision to make the card nautically themed.

Now I have forgotten where I found this card, and I cannot even credit the creator (sorry), but this is the card I took my inspiration from…..

This is the card I gave to my former boss…..
I kept the elements from the original of the boat, sentiment and self made DP, but I do not have a spritzer, so I stamped off my World Map BGS and used it instead. I also put the boat on dimensionals.
Now as you can see, I did not use a button (it was a masculine card after all) and I found a tutorial for the Sailor’s Knot here. I got some twine from Michelle at The Stamp Spot and used it to do the knot. BTW…..SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy with the result!! He is a chap that does not like a lot of fuss, so I hid his age on the inside font of the card and made a wee flag from the Pennant Parade set and used some more twine to “hoist it up the mast”!!
Thanks for popping by. I know my posts have been a tad irregular at present, but rest assured I have a lot more to share…..in between life in general!!

Morning all.
A bit of a bonus post for you this sunny Sunday (yes….I said sunny!!!!!!!!!) Sydney finally has a golden orb in the sky for a change with some heat behind it….woo hoo!!!

This week at Our Creative Corner they have a “Best Friend” theme going. You have to create a card, 3D project etc to let a best friend know that you are thinking of them. It also HAS to contain a flower!! Now my Bestie’s birthday is not for another month, but I have many WONDERFUL friends that have birthday’s in the nest week or so. Well with this in mind, I had an idea or 2 bouncing around my brain.

I also received an order of My Favourite Things dies that I had been very patiently waiting for and was BUSTING to try them out. This is what I came up with…..

Now this card is VERY out of the ordinary for me. I do not do square cards that often, it has a lot of pink in it…another not to frequent occurrence and i also managed to tie my first double bow!!!
The MFT Dizzy Doily and Fancy Flourish dies are so intricate. I loved working with them. I think they are definitely gunna get a massive work out.I used a Bow Easy to tie my double bow.
I cut out all the flowers and the dimensionals really got a workout here, but the flourish/garland was so pretty……
Thanks for popping by again. I may even have another card or two for this challenge….but I will think about it for a bit. Thanks also to Michelle at The Stamp Spot for the MFT dies.
Addit……since posting this and sending a link to Michelle, I have now also entered it in The Stamp Spot Sketch challenge for February.
